Message from the Chairman, Board of the Trustees
Welcome to Laureate International Schools (LIS) website.
Laureate International School is built on the motto that “education is for life” and that every young person irrespective of creed, nationality, culture and ability should be given a chance to learn. It is on this basis that we are a multi-cultural international school with strong Tanzanian principles.
The first Laureate School classroom was started over 15 years ago in a humble setting in Dar es Salaam and gradually grew not only from one classroom to another but from one location to another. This growth is attributed to the hard work, commitment and dedication of our teachers, non-teaching staff, management and more importantly the cooperation from our parents. I take this opportunity to thank all of them and particularly pay tribute to the dedication of the founding administrators among them, Mrs Menesses, Mr Patel, Mr John Walker, Mrs Zuhura Salim Ali and Mrs. Hunte among others.
In Dar es Salaam we have a Nursery and Primary located in two different Campuses in Mikocheni and offer British based Curriculum. The Secondary school is located in Mbezi Beach and offers Cambridge Curriculum from Year 7 to 13. In Zanzibar LIS is located in Chukwani near Zanzibar International Airport. LIS Zanzibar offers Zanzibar Curriculum for Nursery and Primary and the Tanzanian National Curriculum for the Secondary from Form One to Six. I am also glad to let you know that the much awaited Nursery and Primary school in Mwanza will open its doors to the first group of students in August 2012. ADMISSIONS ARE GOING ON NOW!
The Board of Trustees desire to establish schools in different parts is based on the local demand as well as our philosophy of providing education to all. This has not only provided diversity but also facilitated ease of accessibility of quality education to the students and parents in different regions.
Thank you for visiting our website and hope that those of you not members of our community will join us. KARIBUNI!
Mr. Mohamed Khalfan Mansur
